Creating Instant Links (Inspector and Viewer)

Within Instant BSI there can be a requirement to have people view or indeed upload an inspection without creating an account for them. This is particularly useful if you are subcontracting an inspection out to a 3rd party BSI company or when circulating an inspection for viewing among people not in your company.

Creating an Instant Inspector Link

Go to the inspection listing page for your company

Click on Actions and select Get Instant Inspector Link

This opens a modal containing the link with a button to copy it to your  clipboard. You can now create an email or a text message to the inspector and paste the link into the body to send them the link.

When received the inspector clicks the link they will be brought to the inspection listing where they will only see their assigned inspection.

Creating an Instant Viewer Link

To create an Instant Inspection Link go to your Inspection Reports (BSI View)

Select Actions and choose Get Instant Viewer Link

This opens a modal containing the link with a button to copy it to your  clipboard. You can now create an email or a text message to the viewer and paste the link into the body to send them the link.

When received the viewer clicks the link they will be brought to the inspection view listing where they will only see their assigned inspection.

Uploading an AMM

AMM/ ESM Manuals can be added in a number of areas depending on your own work process. You can add a manual to your account that can be used on multiple engines for example a shop manual, or you can upload a manual while preparing an inspection.

Adding an AMM to your account

Click on My Account in the top right hand corner and then select Manage Account.

Then select Maintenance Manuals. Here you can edit existing manuals or click Create New to Add an AMM.

Give your manual a name and select choose file to upload a pdf version of your AMM.

Once uploaded click save.

Adding an AMM to inspection

When preparing an inspection you can add a new manual or select a pre-uploaded manual from the list.

    1. Reference for the AMM for the printed BSI report.
    2. Type: AMM / ESM
    3. Either select from the dropdown (pre uploaded manuals)
    4. Or Add a name for a New manual
    5. Upload new Manual by clicking Choose file and selecting the relevant manual.

Inputting Inspection Data

You can download a PDF guide by clicking this link or read below for how to Input an Inspection.

To input Inspection Data, Log in to your BSI account and go to the ‘BSI Upload’ page and click Actions – ‘Input Inspection Data’ for the inspection you have been assigned to.

Once you click on this link you will be taken to the main data entry area. Entries are done by Module/Component.

To navigate between modules you can either select the module from the drop down menu at the top:

or by using the buttons at the bottom of the page:

As you upload files they are saved automatically so you do not need to save between modules. You can see the status of uploads by looking at their progress bars. You can change between components while the files are uploading just ensure they are all finished before you close off the inspection/ finish later.

Within the component view there are fields that vary depending on the area of the engine you are in but most are the same.

First is the Serviceable Radio Box. You may select serviceable, unserviceable or not inspected if it was not part of your inspection. Selecting unserviceable also creates an alert for online viewers of the report to highlight an area of the engine that needs attention.

Next is the checkbox area – NOTE this is not visible for every component just those that are relevant. Please select the values that match your findings

Written Findings can be entered next, this should be any narratives that you want for the general component. You can choose to format these (eg use bold or underline) for the online report viewers but they will be standardised for the printable pdf report.

Photos are entered next and can be uploaded by either dragging and dropping them into the photo area or by clicking select photos and adding them that way. when you add a photo you will have the option to add an AMM reference page (1)  and a caption (2). This caption will output on the online and pdf report and the AMM reference should be to the page number on the PDF, entering this will allow viewers of the report click the page and be taken directly to the page to see the reference. To include the picture in the pdf report click the box (3). To delete the photo click the delete button.

In a similar way to Photos Videos can be either dragged or selected from your file explorer / finder by clicking the button. We recommend MP4 for video uploads.

Finally you can attach AMM manual references in the final box. To do this take a screenshot and highlight any areas you want highlighted and the save them into this section. These will form the appendixes of the PDF report.

At any stage you can choose the option at the bottom to view draft to see how the report will look to this point in time.

Once complete you can either click finish later to come back and edit further / upload more images/ videos if the connection speed was not sufficient in your location

or Finish and Sign Off to complete your report. From there you will be taken to the sign off page.

The sign off page allows you to attach the ARC and also to upload an electronic signature for the PDF report. Alternatively you can choose to sign off manually via checkbox and this will generate the pdf report for you to print off and sign. NOTE: Once you finish an inspection here it is closed to further edits and you will need to get a company admin to open it again if you want to add more content. If you clicked in accidently you can choose cancel to go back and edit further.

Once Finished the report is complete and submitted. No additional inputs or formatting are required by you.

Viewing Inspections

The Guide below shows how to view a BSI Inspection, alternatively you can download a pdf version by clicking this link.

First log into your BSI account.

Next click BSI View in the top menu bar. You will be presented with a list of all BSI Inspections that are available to you for viewing. Green Indicates a completed inspection, white indicates an inspection that is ongoing or in draft format. To find your inspection if the list is longer you can search for the engine or inspection reference/ serial number.

Once you find your inspection you can click actions and choose to view either the online BSI Report or the Print BSI Report. Selecting View Print BSI Report will bring you to the PDF version for printing / review.

Selecting View Online BSI Report will bring you to the interactive report. This guide covers that report mainly.

To navigate the online inspection we provide a number of methods depending on your requirements and desired outcome:

  1. Hover on any engine section (on desktop) on interactive engine map to see detailed inspection findings.
  2. Click on specific engine sections to view that module. Engine sections are colour coded for easier identification. Sections in grey have not been inspected.
  3. Click ‘Alerts’ from the top menu for the list of unserviceable conditions, click on component name to go straight to that components findings page.
  4. Once in the sections you can also use the engine quick navigation to move between modules.

Each engine section contains useful graphics such as component diagrams and borescope port holes.

  • Engine icon (top right) shows location in engine being inspected.
  • Left panel provides link to component inspection:
    • Grey text = Not inspected
    • Blue text = Inspected
  • Click to enter findings page.

Component findings page has four (4) tabs: Photos; Video; Findings; AMM Extracts.

1. Photos: Contains all photos uploaded by inspector.

  • Double-click photo to enlarge on screen.
  • Page number under photo – click for hyperlink to exact AMM page with inspection criteria.

2. Videos: Contains all videos uploaded by inspector.

  • Click play icon to show video on screen.
  • Click ‘Download’ under video to save/extract.

3. Findings: Contains written comments input by inspector.
